When locals in certain parts of New Orleans such as Algiers, the Irish Channel, or the Ninth Ward need supplies to make their gumbo, red beans & rice, or jambalaya, they say, "Come on, dahlin', I gotta go down by da store and make groceries." When you get ready to cook a truly authentic Cajun or Creole meal at home, you don't need to go to the Big Easy, you can "make groceries" right here at Chef Rameaux's.

We carry a full line of genuine Cajun meats including andouille sausage, tasso ham, and boudin from Comeaux's Meats in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, Savoie's in Opelousas and from Richard's (Ree-shards) in Church Point. For those watching their diets, we have Turkey Tasso and Turkey Andouille. We have those incredible Cajun Meat Pies and Crawfish Pies, and our most popular item at the State Fair, Savoie's Alligator Andouille Sausage. Don't be fooled by so-called "cajun" meats that actually come from such places as Sunnyvale, California; Chef Rameaux's sells only authentic, made-in-Cajun-Country meats.

For your crawfish etouffee or bisque, we have crawfish tail meat year round, and we can get fresh, live crawfish for you on special order during season, from about February until about June. We have alligator tail meat and we can special order turtle meat, dressed rabbit, or any exotic seafood you need.

Our customers have come to rely on us as the sole source locally for that unique, nutty aroma of Creole Rose Rice "popcorn" rice. Grown by our friends the Garber Family of Iota, Louisiana, Creole Rose takes all your Cajun and Creole dishes to a new level. Pioneered by the late Ellis Stancil of Welsh, Louisiana, "popcorn" rice is a distinctive hybrid of Basmati rice and a high quality, extra-fancy Louisiana long grain white rice. We also carry the amazing Konriko "Brown Pecan Rice."

Chef Rameaux's Louisiana Market is also the only source in the Triangle where you can always find Community Dark Roast Coffee, Café du Monde Coffee & Chicory and Beignet Mix, and all sorts of Louisiana Hot Sauces and Cajun Seasonings such as Tony Chachere's, Konriko, and Zatarain's. We have file' for your gumbo, blackening seasoning for your red fish, bottled and dry roux mixes, and a variety of ready-mixes for gumbo, jambalaya, dirty rice, and shrimp Creole.
